Steve Teller, MBA
Managing Director & Co-Founder
Steve is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Parallax Life Sciences Consulting. Steve has 18 years of experience in strategy and management consulting, with the past 16 years focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. Since the founding of Parallax in 2005, Steve has partnered with executives at both large and mid-size drug manufacturers to develop and execute strategies for business growth and enhanced operational performance. He has experience working across all major functional areas of commercial and medical operations, and brings extensive knowledge of the healthcare market. Steve has helped life sciences clients develop solutions, services and information to meet the needs of patients, providers, health plans, employers, policy-makers, agencies and third-party advocates. By integrating insights across these market perspectives, Steve helps clients hone their value propositions and enhance their capabilities. He has compelling leadership skills and is an engaging facilitator, having led hundreds of workshops and planning sessions throughout his career involving both clients and external decision-makers.
Steve also has executive-level experience leading a pharmaceutical advertising and medical communications agency to deliver promotional and medical marketing services focused on managed markets customers, including employers, health plans, PBMs and integrated delivery systems. His experience creating and implementing tactical initiatives and materials for these channels helps Parallax build strategies with an eye toward marketing and field-force execution.
Steve began his consulting career in the Life Sciences Strategy Practice at Capgemini Consulting. His Management Consulting experience also includes the Automotive, Paper Products, Energy, and Steel business sectors. Steve is a member of the CEO Council of Tampa Bay. He has an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University.
Christoph Grueneis, MBA, MSE
Managing Director & Co-Founder
Christoph is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Parallax Life Sciences Consulting. Christoph has 17 years of experience in strategy and management consulting, with the past 15 years focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. Since the founding of Parallax in 2005, Christoph has focused on partnering with client organizations to develop strategies, conduct internal and external assessments, enhance organizational capabilities, prepare business plans, and execute tactics. Leveraging his analytical background, financial expertise, and knowledge of pharmaceutical data sets; Christoph also works with clients to develop and apply advanced business analytics. In addition, Christoph’s practical experience working with data and systems allows him to partner with clients to create and/or enhance their internal analytical capabilities. With experience across all areas of the Pharma/Biotech value chain, Christoph helps clients incorporate cross-functional insight and perspective to formulate practical and actionable strategies to improve business performance.
Christoph began his consulting career with Capgemini America in the financial services sector before moving on to a global corporate finance role within Gemini Consulting and ultimately returning into a consulting role. His Management Consulting experience also includes the Chemicals, Luxury Goods, and Financial sectors. Christoph holds both an MBA and an MSE from the University of Michigan and a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture.
Paul has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including roles in sales, sales management, marketing, operations, supply chain, trade and managed markets. His experience spans large and small pharmaceutical companies, having held positions of increasing responsibility with Bristol Myers Squibb, AstraZeneca, Sanofi and ProStrakan (a Kyowa Hakko Kirin company). He has extensive knowledge across the entire US managed markets landscape including health plans, employers, PBMs, federal and state government entities and integrated delivery systems. Paul applies his depth of experience and multiple points-of-view to help clients develop strategies to best demonstrate value that aligns to the business interests of these various stakeholders.
Paul has had leadership roles in multiple drug launches including Nexium, Crestor, Symbicort, Ambien CR, Sancuso and Abstral. In his previous role prior to joining Parallax, Paul built and oversaw the managed markets and supply chain functions for ProStrakan in the US, where he established and led company capabilities for pricing, reimbursement, payer account management, sales operations support, and product distribution to launch two products and enable day-to-day business operations. In previous work, Paul integrated multiple existing data sources into an innovative account-based forecasting system to optimize business performance, resource allocation and contracting decision making.
Paul is a visionary executive who applies his industry experiences and healthcare market expertise to help clients develop and implement strategies that deliver measurable results in sales, marketing and managed markets. He has unique abilities to simplify complex issues, identify market opportunities, and create and implement innovative solutions that drive financial results. Paul has a collaborative style that aligns people toward a common vision and motivates teams to exceed goals. Paul has a BS in Agricultural Industries-Marketing from the University of Illinois.
